Letted for Councils
Council oversight
should be easy
Give your team a clear, audit-ready view of every landlord, document, repair, and property issue — so you can keep your schemes moving without becoming the managing agent.
Why councils work with us
Help your housing team keep private rented schemes compliant, visible, and moving — without taking on the day-to-day work of managing landlords.
Oversight without ownership
Real-time visibility on compliance, condition, and outstanding actions across every enrolled property — without the council having to take on direct landlord management.
Reduced officer time
Letted handles the certificate-chasing, document collection, and renewal reminders that currently sit with council housing teams, freeing officers to focus on landlord recruitment and tenant placement.
A clear audit trail
Every message, document, and inspection is timestamped and logged — ready for Ombudsman queries, Environmental Health escalations, internal audits, or DPIA reviews.
Faster issue resolution
Repairs, compliance gaps, and tenant queries are visible the moment they’re raised, with structured updates flowing to the council so nothing falls through the cracks.
Landlord retention
A platform that landlords actually find useful, making council schemes more attractive to join and stay in — directly supporting supply pipelines.
Flexible engagement
Add and remove properties at any time. No long-term commitment, no minimum portfolio size, and no change fees.
Built for any council scheme that touches private rented stock
Letted adapts to the shape of the engagement, not the other way round. Common use cases:
Temporary accommodation
Supply & Acquisitions teams placing households into properties leased from private landlords.
Refugee & resettlement
Sanctuary programmes, Homes for Ukraine, Afghan resettlement, and equivalent council-supported housing pathways.
Private Sector Housing
Compliance support and tenant-landlord coordination across managed and licensed stock.
Landlord accreditation
Providing accredited landlords with a structured tool as part of the council’s accreditation package.
HMO licensing & enforcement
Supporting environmental health teams with structured oversight of licensed HMO portfolios.
Homelessness prevention
Wherever the council relies on private rented stock to keep households housed.
Two ways to engage
Both tiers are tailored to portfolio size, scheme requirements, and how operational the council wants Letted to be. Pricing is quoted per engagement.
Letted takes operational responsibility for every enrolled property on behalf of the landlord. The council gets the same oversight as the Standard tier, with even less to chase — and the compliance certificates are on us.
- Everything in Standard, plus:
- Repair coordination from report to close-out — Letted sources, dispatches, and signs off
- Tenant communication — Letted is the front door for queries, repair requests, and routine correspondence
- Compliance remediation — when something is missing or expired, Letted resolves it, not just flags it
- Coverage of compliance certificate costs — gas safety, EICR, EPC, HMO licences and equivalent included
How it works
A structured onboarding path designed to be deliverable without committing significant council officer time.
Discovery
A short initial conversation to understand your portfolio, the schemes involved, and the level of service the team is looking for.
Consent & setup
Contract and consent forms signed. The initial in-scope property list is agreed, and the Council View dashboard is configured for your team.
Landlord onboarding
Letted contacts each participating landlord directly, secures their consent, and supports them through onboarding. Existing documentation is collected and verified.
Compliance baseline
All available documentation is uploaded, structured, and reflected in the Council View. Any gaps identified during onboarding are flagged and resolved with the landlord.
Ongoing service
A dedicated account manager remains your single point of contact. Letted continues to manage compliance tracking, communications, and portfolio updates — flexibly adding or removing properties at any time.
